    Olive oil, a key food item in the Mediterranean diet, has a positive effect on our lives and on our health.

    CHOLESTEROL

    Extra virgin olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fats and is therefore able to lower the levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) and raise those of HDL (good cholesterol).

    ARTERIOSCLEROSIS

    By preventing the accumulation of cholesterol and fatty deposits on artery walls, extra virgin olive oil helps reduce the occurrence of this disease.

    THE AGING PROCESS

    Vitamin E and other antioxidants are found in bountiful qualities in olive oil and help fight against the formation of free radicals, counteracting the aging process, as well as the onset of tumours. It also has positive effects on gastritis and gastro-duodenal ulcers.

    SPORTS

    The easy digestibility of extra virgin olive oil makes it an excellent food in the diet of an athlete; it also helps regulate intestinal activity.

    Olive pit

    The olive pit is a residual product produced in mills when making olive oil: thanks to separating machinery and a mechanical process, the pit can be separated from the virgin pomace oil.
