Olive pit
The Nocciolino di Oliva is cleaned and ground olive pit.
The olive pit is a residual product produced in mills when making olive oil: thanks to separating machinery and a mechanical process, the pit can be separated from the virgin pomace oil.
It is a natural fuel - considered a biomass fuel - with a particle size of less than 5 mm and low moisture levels. It is used for heating and water heaters, for fireplaces, ovens and, more generally, for all types of multi-fuel boilers with a feeder.
The olive pit falls into the "biomass fuel" category, as defined by Italian Legislative Decree no. 152 of 3/04/2006 and the Council of Ministers Presidential Decree on the 8/10/04. Therefore, it is vegetable waste derived from the processing of agricultural products, without the use of pesticides and so 100% ecological.
Virgin olive pit is available at the Gallone mill during the winter season.
